On Saturday, January 8, the Avon quiz bowl team traveled to the Pepsicola Theater in Mitchell. Quiz bowl consists of a three-man team competing against another school by answering questions of various subjects. Whichever team answers six questions correctly first is deemed the winner.

On Saturday, January 8 the wrestling team went to the Dan Panschl Invitational meet in Brandon Valley. Brady Bierema and Tyler Tjeerdsma both came in third place at this meet.
