Read moreWhat began a year ago with a podcast, has now blossomed into the beginnings of a movement. When Recovery Warriors first launched their podcast on Facebook last year, never did they expect that only a year later they would be holding a conference in Pierre that included participants and speakers traveling from Utah, Arizona, North Dakota, Minnesota, Iowa, Nebraska, Montana, Kansas, Wisconsin and Canada. This ground breaking event will have representation from every tribe in South Dakota in attendance as well as several tribes in North Dakota and even a group of high school students will attend the conference. The conference requires no registration and is open to anyone and everyone whose life has been touched or affected by addiction. Even though the event will focus on meth addiction, all addictions and those affected by them are welcome.

Read moreThe American Legion Auxiliary Greer Unit #11 is honoring Dan Horner as the February Veteran of the Month. Dan enlisted in the United States Air Force in September of 1964 and received an honorable discharge in May of 1968, having spent three years and eight months in active military service. Dan was sent to Lackland Air Force Base in Lackland, TX to complete basic training. After basic training, he was then sent to Chanute Air Force Base in Rantoul, IL to receive his technical training in automotive mechanics. After completing his training, Dan was stationed in Denver, CO at Lowry Air Force Base where he worked in the auto shop until 1967.
