The meeting was brought to order on a blistery Wednesday by President Jordan Weber’s ring of the bell. He led the group in prayer, and then Rotarian Margaret Doom introduced her guest, her husband Noah Bensen. Song leader Geritt Juffer led the group in a dreadful rendition of “Let Me Call You Sweetheart,' which was not sweet at all, in honor of the upcoming Valentines Day holiday. There was no membership minute today.

Read moreThis week’s featured Andes Central Senior is Leah Brown. Leah is the granddaughter of Amy Emerson. Leah has one sibling, Israel. During her high school years, Leah has been involved in volleyball, basketball, JAG, National Honor Society, and track. Her favorite class is weight lifting. Ms. Maynard, Ms. Keizer, and Mr. Johnson are Leah’s favorite teachers. Leah’s advice to underclassmen wouldbe to “always put yourself first; do what’s best for you.” The most inspiring person in Leah’s life is Mr. Deneui. Her most memorable school moment would be when she dressed as Santa Claus to hand out goody bags to the elementary students. Homecoming week and the AC/DC Lady Thunder basketball team are what Leah will miss the most about her days at Andes Central.
