Read moreCoach, Bridgette Muller had these comments on the girls' great season. "What a wonderful group of girls that I was blessed to work with this year. This group consisted of one second grader, five third graders, six fourth graders, four fifth graders and three sixth graders. When it was time to practice, they practiced hard and learned so much in the couple months we had together. They were told they had to give me 100% at practice, and they did just that. At game times, they were focused and did what they were taught and really proved themselves. I teach a clean game of basketball, beginning with the fundamentals. Then we work on teamwork, no negativity towards each other or themselves. We worked on respect for each other, ourselves, coaches and officials. It was so awesome to see them on the court during games, having fun, scoring, running their plays and seeing how they worked against defense outside of our own players during practice and their enthusiasm before, during and after their games. As with anything, these young girls learned a lot, but have much more to learn, but they are on the right track! There were a few times when the younger girls played with the older girls during games, which they went out and gave their all, against players bigger, quicker and more experienced. Their fearless attitudes to compete against anybody will take them a long ways. Big thanks to Shirley Soukup and Dwight Brandt for helping during practices and games. Having those second or third pair of eyes really helps catch some of the little things to make the girls better!"
