Read moreCollin Dingsor of the University of Sioux Falls was named to the 2023-2024 NSIC Elite 18 award winner for men’s indoor track and field. Collin ran the 60-meter hurdles and the mile relay at the NSIC Conference meet in Mankato, MN on February 24th. The award is based on academic achievement and athletic ability. Collin is in his sophomore year at USF majoring in education and maintains a 4.0 grade point average. Collin is the son of Bryan and Jennifer Dingsor and the grandson of Jerry and June Finck.
Read moreEach year the American Legion Auxiliary sponsors poem and essay contests for grades 3rd through 12th. This year’s Americanism essay contest title was “What does Freedom mean to me?” Students from Wagner Community School were asked to participate. There were seven essays received from the IV Class of freshmen and sophomores. Those participating in the essay contest were Emma Kreeger, Octavian Kocer, Trasin Dilts, Ravyn Medricky, Addison Cuka, Mara Wright and Kieradyn Knudsen. Winners were 1st place – Emma Kreeger, 2nd place – Ravyn Medricky and 3rd place – Trasin Dilts. Emma’s essay will be sent on to the state level to compete. The Wagner American Legion Auxiliary would like to thank all of the participants and the Wagner Community School for their support and help in facilitating the contest.

The essay entries totaled 29 for the 5th and 6th graders (Class II), 40 entries for the 7th and 8th graders 9 (Class III), and 1 solo entry for the high school (Class IV).
